I purchased these for early reflection treatment in a suite built to work from home whilst out of the studio. It is is used for pre-production, writing/arranging, sound design and mixing.
I was unsure of quality or affective use of these units before purchasing as I had never heard of the manufacturer and am sceptical of such treatment products. However given the price range and aesthetics visually I was interested. Therefore I conducted an investigation via forums, videos and reviews online in order to get a better idea about these absorbers. Having generally been impressed by what I found I decided to purchase 2 units to test.
They definitely affect the higher mid range as described and took care of some problem reflections the room experiences, widening the stereo width and allowing for more critical listening. In my situation I fitted them 1.5 inches from the wall however this is specific to my needs. Since then I have purchased another 4.
The only disadvantage is the images here do not represent the colour perfectly but are not far off at all, and more can be found online for clarity.

I don't have too much experience with absorbers. All I can say is this product looks good and it does absorb frequencies as per advertised. No complaints.

je vais être clair sur les anciennes commandes de 2012 que je n'ai pas évalué d'ailleurs, les produits étaient de finition et fabrication impeccable avec petit badge HOFA , on enlève pas les qualités acoustiques du produit, pas de problèmes de ce côté là .
le bois était bien plaqué au tissu et lors des transports aucun soucis de casse !!
j'ai fait une commande en 2013 il y avait déjà un petit écart entre le bois et le tissu
fabrication un peu moins sérieuse le risque de casse n' était pas trop important .
aujourd'hui les 2 dernier modèles MK2 crème que j'ai commandé gros problèmes sur les 2 produits ;un cassé sur le coté et un autre décollé !!!
pourquoi cela parce-que le bois est à 3 ou 4 mm du tissu sur presque tout le tour
de l'absorbeur et il a un écart trop important et sur le derrière de l'absorbeur pareil ,on voit des écart important.
la fabrication a baissé de puis 2012 en qualité et en précision sur le bois ,je ne comprends pas aujourd'hui tout ce fait sur machines numériques de précision au dixième de millimètre comment HOFA peut laissé passer cela lors des contrôles qualité ! c'est fait en Allemagne je suppose ,à moins que cela doit être sous traité ailleurs !
c'est dommage parce que c'est produits sont très bon acoustiquement et bon rapport qualité prix .
alors je demande au service qualité de Thoman.de de faire remonter cela au constructeur HOFA .
moi pour ma part je vais leurs envoyer un courrier aussi au constructeur HOFA . cordialement JPGOODSOUND

mich hat an meinen Nahfeld-Monitoren schon immer gestört, daß sie in meinem Raum zu mittig klangen und der Bass zu undefiniert war. Es war mir immer klar, daß es an meinem doch eher nackten, großen Raum liegen muß, trotzdem bin ich irgendwie jahrelang gut klargekommen mit den vielen Filmen, die ich in meinem Wohnzimmer vertont habe ;-) ... habe zur Not meine Hifi-Boxen mit Subwoofer dazugeschaltet, was nicht gerade eine amtliche Methode ist- aber da war dann der Frequenzgang ausgeglichener mit dem negativen Nebeneffekt, daß der Raum eben oft mitgeklungen hat.
Also ich gelesen habe, daß die MK2 ab 200 Hz greifen, habe ich gedacht, ab da liegt hier genau das Problem und habe sie mir auf verdacht bestellt.
Die Monitore stehen auf Brettern, die in die Wand gedübelt sind. Ich habe je einen MK2 Absorber hinter die Nahfeld-Monitore gestellt.
Das Ergebnis: es ist so, als hätte ich mir neue Boxen gekauft. Ein ausgewogeneres Klangbild, definierte Bässe, die nun bis in den Sub-Bereich deutlich hörbar sind, der Raum spielt im Nahfeld-Bereich kaum noch eine Rolle, ich brauche meine Mogel-Lautsprecher nicht mehr dazu zuschalten. Ich konnte es kaum glauben und habe einen Musiker-Freund gefragt, der meine Boxen schon immer Scheiße fand und der war auch sehr positiv erstaunt!
Bin sehr happy!

What always bothered me about my nearfield monitors was that they sounded too centered in my room and the bass was too undefined. It was always clear to me that it had to be because of my rather bare, large room, but somehow I managed well for years with the many films that I set to music in my living room ;-) ... if necessary I used my hi-fi Boxes with a subwoofer were switched on, which is not exactly an official method - but the frequency response was more balanced with the negative side effect that the room often sounded along. So when I read that the MK2s work from 200 Hz, I thought that this was exactly the problem and I ordered them on suspicion. The monitors stand on boards that are doweled into the wall. I placed a MK2 absorber behind each near-field monitor. The result: it's as if I had bought new boxes. A more balanced sound, defined bass that is now clearly audible down to the sub-range, the room hardly plays a role in the near field, I no longer need to switch on my fake speakers. I couldn't believe it and asked a musician friend who always thought my speakers were shit and he was also very pleasantly surprised! I'm very happy!
